Great Steakhouse

I was in Orlando for the weekend, and got a chance to dine at the Texas de Brazil steakhouse. It's all-you-can eat steak, and it was really good. Highly recommended.

Sarasota Visit

I was in Sarasota for a lunch engagement. Since I was in the area, I got a chance to visit newly-elected Sheriff Tom Knight of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. Tom is doing well and is settling into his new job.

The World

The cruise ship "The World" was visiting Tampa this week. It served as a floating hotel for the Super Bowl. If you have the means, you can buy your own cabin aboard the ship. Not a bad way to travel.

I'm now working downtown. ESPN was in town, broadcasting the Super Bore activities live.

The Day the Music Died

If you are a rock-and-roll buff, you probably know that today marks the 50th anniversary of the untimely passing of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper). They crashed in a small plane after playing a concert at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. To quote The Righteous Brothers, they must have a hell of band in Rock and Roll heaven.
